Old Photographs of Kyrgyzstan

Surfing the internet I found some old pictures of Kyrgyzstan. Then it was not even established as an independent state, but belonged to the Soviet Union.
Below you can see a building. It sais on the wall "Stalin atyndagy orto mekteb N3", which means Stalin High school #3 (named after Joseph Stalin) Currently, after 75 years, this building is American University-Central Asia(AUCA)

The pictures above and below shows the nomads when moving to other pastures(1900's). Before people used to have many camels in our lands. Each camel could carry one yurt, when the yurt was put apart. Camels also supplied the owners with warm wool
The lady in the photograph(above) is making a rug, mostly used inside the yurt. My grandmother used to make rugs with the same tools you can see in the picture above. She made rugs for the house and even made a "jainamaz"(a prayer-rug, used to make a prayer on it) for my grandfather. However, nowadays simce there are fabricated and cheap carpets and rugs in the markets, people stopped making the rugs in their houses.

A century had passed since these pictures were taken. However, the way of life in some remote regions of Kyrgyzstan is not far too distinct from what it was a century ago.
People still live in the yurts, breed camels and move to the pastures in the summer times.
