Jazz Festival Jazz_Bishkek_Spring

April 27-29 was the weekend of jazz music in Bishkek. The jazz bands and musicians from USA, Germany, Switzerland, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan performaed in a three-day-festival on the stages of Opera House, Metro Pub and Jazz Club of Bishkek.

I had a chance to work in the organizational committee of the Jazz Festival and it took us nealry 3 monthes untill we finally presented our efforts in a three-day-event. The musicians played wide range of jazz music; Tajik and Kyrgyz folk-jazz, fusion and original jazz from US. People poured inside Opera House on all three days and they all left with pleasure and fascination(though there were some problems with tickets in the beginning). Central Asian musicians were very surprized, even little envious, that Kyrgyzstan has a large number of jazz-lovers and a special Jazz Club.

Being in an organizational team of the festival was very valuable experience for me; made new friends, got familiar with jazz, and just had a nice time during the concerts. Hopefully, there will be the Third International Jazz Festival next spring. I look forward for it.
