December 8 to 12 there was a Diversity Week in our university. American University in Central Asia(AUCA) has students from different nationalities and ethnic groups. I counted that there are 15 different nationalities: afganis, americans, chinese, kazakhs, koreans, kyrgyz, pakistanis, russians, tatars, tajiks, turkmens, uygurs and uzbeks. Whole week, starting on Monday, students of different nationalities and ethnic groups came to university in their national clothes. Everyday at lunch-time all studetns gathered at the hall to share and introduce their culture and traditions. On Monday there was a day for the posters, students made the posters about their countries and culture. They also exhibited all their cultural belongins as musical instrumetns, flags, symbols and clothes. On Tuesday the students had to play Cinderella, but in the way that their traditional life would have created it. This day was one of the funniest and interesting days, because I watched Cinderella 7 times in 40 minutes and in different ways. Wednesday was the food-day. Students cooked different meals and everybody had a chance to taste a little bit of every nations meal. Thursday was the quiz-day. All nationalities had to use their knowledge they had learnt the last three days about other nationalities culture and traditions. I had a chance to participate on that quiz, but unfortunatelly our team did not win. But it was a big surprise when that American team won the quiz. The last day of Diversity Week, Friday was a day for the final concert. Studetns sang, danced, acted and we , the audience, enjoyed it enermously.
